One of the most memorable destinations I've ever been to is Croatia.  It is an absolutely beautiful country filled with culture, history and amazing people.  The country is also home to many beautiful and unspoiled islands (over 1000), which are very easy to get to.

Croatia's coast is speckled with dozens of magnificent islands that range from tiny, verdant and uninhabited, to massive, arid and sporting of ancient towns and villages.  For beach lovers like me, or those who enjoy island-hopping, this is the perfect country to spend the holidays in.  Each island has its own character and terrain.

My favorite part of Croatia? The Adriatic Coast.  It's an absolute heaven on Earth.  I thought such views were only available online, but seeing it first-hand just left me speechless.

The Adriatic Coast has multiple islands and they are all equally gorgeous. It has enchanted sea-lovers for centuries with its distinct and alluring beaches.

Presiding over these panoramic views that extend to the shoreline, over vineyards and villages, is a remarkable experience.

The Hvar Island is one of my favorites, as it's filled with glitz and glamour.  It's the most luxurious island on the coast and it is considered the sunniest place in the country.  I was amazed by the yachts gliding through the tranquil waters in the shadow of a medieval castle as it felt like a scene out of a movie.

The castle has passed hands between the Byzantines, Venetians, and Austrians. The adventure doesn't stop on the sea, because on land, lavender fields stand waiting to take your breath away.

Stari Grad and Jelsa, the island's two other towns, are emerging as popular alternatives thanks to their quieter, more sophisticated charms.

Korcula, also known as the Emerald Isle, is close to Dubrovnik.  It is an island filled with so much history and culture.  The place is full of charm which makes it feel so magical.  When I talked to the locals I found a very interesting fact.  It turns out Marco Polo was born there.  This is one of the coolest places I've seen because one of the towns, which is also named Korcula, is actually surrounded by medieval walls and defensive towers.

Another town within the island that I enjoyed exploring was the town of Vela Luka.  It is the largest town in Korcula and is rich with many eager discoveries: coves, vineyards, olive groves, fig and pine trees.  The towns, coves and bays can be explored via bicycle.  It was so amazing to see and feel so much history while just enjoying the warm weather

The island of Mljet might be the most captivating island I've visited in Croatia.  It is covered predominantly by forests, and the rest is dotted with fields, vineyards and villages.  I love any island with a vineyard, if you haven't noticed.  It has a lot of walking and cycling trails, which is just absolutely perfect for me.

I loved the Mljet National Park since it was surrounded by two gorgeous saltwater lakes, Malo Jezero and Veliko Jezero.  The local cuisine is also supremely unforgettable.  There is so much to do in this stunningly beautiful island that a daytrip is simply not enough.

Most of Croatia’s beaches are pebbly or rocky, but Rab is one of the few islands with golden sandy beaches to enjoy.  The southwest of the island is surrounded by pine forests, beaches and coves while the northeast has a few settlements, high cliffs (which are gorgeous but also scary) and a barren look.

It features a thousand shades of blue, with thick holm oak trees towering over it.  It will treat you to an unforgettable sailing adventure. The mountainous interior of the island is ideal for walking and exploring the landscapes.  The well-preserved, historic center is punctuated by the Rab Cathedral bell tower, and seeing it in person will leave you awestruck.

The Vis island is home to Stivina beach, which was named as the best beach in Europe.  It is not the easiest beach to access since it is well hidden.  You have to hike down to the beach or go there by a small boat.  It might take a lot of effort, but trust me when I say your efforts will be rewarded with breathtaking views.

The island has three small fishing villages and one of Croatia's few, real, eco-holiday options.  Aside from having the best beach in Europe, Vis also has the Blue Cave.  It's a place you have to see for yourself to really appreciate its mesmerizing beauty.

The many islands along the Adriatic Coast of Croatia make for varied vacations.  One of best things in Croatia is the ability to hop among the islands on the numerous ferries, catamarans and taxi boats.

If you own a sailboat and tender, you’re all set to explore.   Exploring the many, unspoiled beaches and vibrant towns that are nestled in those islands is an experience that no one can forget.

It's a unique blend of live, medieval documentary, storybook fairy tale, and pristine beaches.  Visiting Croatia is a must in this lifetime.

Take the time to experience this country with its rich culture and you'll create memories you will never forget.  Trust me when I say it's something that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
